IDENTIFY A NEW CONSTELLATION

-

14 You probably focus on constellations fairly high up in the sky, where stars appear brighter and are easier to identify. Constellations low on the horizon can be harder. Those rising in the east can be viewed later on when higher and easier to see. Get to know the 13 zodiacal constellations which lie across the celestial equator. Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and Leo are easy to find; Aries, Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and the ’forgotten’ Ophiuchus can be tricky to identify. They’re relatively low on the southern horizon and some of their stars are hard to find. Persevere – the fainter and more complex the constellation the more joy you’ll get from finding it.
