ITV’s david to make veg-growing easy

-

ITV GArdener david domoney is bringing out his own seed range to help first-time gardeners grow their own food.

david, who presents Love Your Garden with Alan Titchmarsh, has taken the wraps off his ‘Get Growing’ seed line-up.

The launch comes at a time when Love Your Garden is enjoying top TV ratings, with the current series peaking at around 3.9million viewers – making it the mostwatched gardening show on the box. david’s seed range comprises 56 popular veg varieties plus 10 seed mats and tapes.

Perfect for window sills

david told AG: “I’m keen to get more people growing their own food, and experiencing that excitement that you get when you see a seed germinate.

“There are no complex plant names [in the range] just veg and herbs that can even be grown in containers and on kitchen window sills,” he explained.

Varieties include lettuce ‘Little Gem,’ beetroot ‘Solist,’ carrot ‘nantes 5,’ dwarf bean ‘Ferrari’ and climbing bean ‘Cobra’.

While aimed at helping gardeners build confidence with growyour-own, the range will also appeal to “experienced growers who will benefit from the tried and tested range of seeds,” it was claimed.

Seed packs promise jargon-free advice and there’s a Qr code which can be scanned with a smartphone to take gardeners to ‘on-the-spot’ advice from david’s website (8 daviddomoney.com).
