Looking after containers

Amateur Gardening - - Contents -

CONTAINERS and grow bags have a lot of plants in a small area of compost and it doesn’t take long for the nutrients to be depleted.

Even though container compost is designed to feed plants for several months, they will need a nutritional top-up after the first few weeks.

You can slip a plug of slow-release granules such as Osmocote into the compost at planting or add a liquid tomato food to your watering ritual once week to keep plants strong.

Use high potassium feed for containers
