Rootstock 106

Amateur Gardening - - Pick Of The Very Best -

EATING and culinary apples that are available to buy are often grafted on to a range of different rootstocks, resulting in trees that will grow to a range of sizes – from neat and compact to large and vigorous.

Crab apples are naturally less vigorous and there’s often little or no choice of rootstocks: they are usually grafted on to a semi-vigorous rootstock known as MM106, or onto M27 for trees intended for containers.

Look for M27 rootstock for containers
