Apple computers

According to the late Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Inc, the company’s name was inspired by a visit to an apple farm; he considered the name ‘Apple’ to be “fun, spirited and not intimidating”.

The best-selling Apple Mac desktop computer was named after the ‘McIntosh’ apple (pictured), which is regarded as the national apple of Canada. Jef Raskin, head of the team that created the computer, regarded this variety as his favourite, so named the product after it.
