A plant to keep
QCan you identify this plant, and could it have come from scattered birdseed? Mrs L Marshall, Staplehurst, Kent
AIt appears to be coreopsis or tickseed, possibly from birdseed. A native of America, cultivated forms are derived from Coreopsis grandiflora and C. lanceolata.
It has great aesthetic appeal and can be cut back when flowers fade and repositioned strategically in your border. A hardy perennial, it should come through the winter.
