Disappointed at show move

Amateur Gardening - - Your Letters -

I CAN’T be the only RHS show fan who is disappointed at the organisation’s decision to rearrange the London shows from Lindley Hall in Victoria to RHS Garden Hyde Hall in Essex.

I live in Wiltshire, and for years I have enjoyed a day trip on the train to Waterloo and walked to the Early Spring Show to admire the displays, listen to lectures and buy supplies.

It will be impossible to get to Essex. London is such a central location: there must be many people like me who will have to give up this pleasure.

Wendy says: There is hope, Carole – one or more of the shows may move to Wisley once the new events building is open. In the meantime, the RHS will put on a spring launch show in the London Lindley and Lawrence Halls on 8-10 April 2019 and this will incorporate the Orchid Show.

RHS Director General Sue Biggs says: “We are sorry that some members will be disappointed, but we hope they understand that these shows are no longer sustainable for the RHS and our dedicated exhibitors.” The majority of the London RHS shows will move to RHS Gardens
