Top tips for overwintering dahlias

Amateur Gardening - - Pick Of The Very Best -

You should get to know your soil. A waterlogged soil won’t be a good home for dahlias in winter.

Over the winter, check the stored tubers for rot and discard any that are in poor health.

Dry tubers well before storing. Always store tubers in a dark, frost-free place free of rodents.

Make sure you have a system of labelling your tubers, or else you’ll be at risk of planting the shortest dahlia at the back of the border!
