Check the name and re-write or re-label each tree and shrub before it fades, and also check each tree’s stakes and ties. 2
Cut back any herbaceous flowering plants, globe artichokes and asparagus stems after their stems have withered or the plant loses nutrients. 3
Dig up and split up older congested herbaceous plants, then replant the healthy ones in groups of five, seven or three. 4
Don’t give your houseplants a shock when you water – keep a full watering can near a radiator or another warm place.
