“Make sure your outdoor taps are fully protected,” says Tim

Plastic foam, pre-slit for fitting. Green plastic caps for handle and nozzle. Clips to secure joints. Designed to fit BS1010/2 hose union 1∕2in (15mm) bib tap – may not fit other taps.

Slides over a standard garden tap from beneath via pre-cut slits – the tap handle and wall ends may need trimming with a sharp knife or saw. Exposed external pipework needs additional lagging (not supplied). Clips press into foam across the joints to secure cover, a plastic cap covers the tap handle then the nozzle foam slides into place. Offers good insulation – but you can’t use the tap with it on and it’s fiddly to remove.

Neat, easy to fit, but not being able to use the tap may be an issue for some.
