How to plant an in­door con­tainer

1 While the plants are stand­ing in wa­ter, add drainage crocks and multi-pur­pose com­post to the pot. 2 Tease out the roots of the cen­tral plant and place it in the pot at the same depth as its root­ball. 3 Add the re­main­ing plants around the side, loos­en­ing the roots and tak­ing care not to dam­age them. 4 In­fill with more com­post and firm it down. If there are gaps, the plants will soon grow to fill them. 5 Wa­ter the con­tainer well and let it drain through prop­erly be­fore bring­ing the pot in­side.

Watch out for pests and deal with them im­me­di­ately to avoid in­fes­ta­tions
