Corsican hellebores

-

Helleborus argutifolius is known as the Corsican hellebore because it is native to Corsica (and Sardinia). It is also called the holly-leaved hellebore as its leaves are comprised of spiny edges (in Latin naming, argutifolius means ‘with sharp-toothed leaves’). Its late winter and early spring flowers are bowl-shaped – and bright green.
