Acer la vista

- M. Collins, Feltham, Greater London

I DO believe the best ideas can be gleaned from other people’s gardens. When visiting an open garden last week, the owner had grouped pots of grasses and sedums on a low wall so they could be seen more easily.

Back home, I did the same using containers of plants that I hadn’t got round to planting. A ‘Hamlyn’ grass, a Japanese maple and succulents were placed on a patio table so I could see them from my kitchen window.

Added to this scene were my double ‘Waterlily’ colchicums that represented excellent value for money at £5 for three bulbs and have continued to flower for weeks. This little display really lit up my day!
