The latest trends in cut-flower style from the Netherlands

Amateur Gardening - - This Week In Gardening -

1There are now pollen-free double gerbera cultivars acceptable for enclosed areas used by hay fever sufferers.

2Stout stems and large, healthy leaves are a clear sign of quality. Such flowers are likely to last longer when cut and arranged in water.

3One or two tulip flowers in a vase allows the full beauty of each bloom to be appreciated. Treat tulips and roses in deep water up to the neck for a few hours before placing in the vase to prevent drooping.

4Cut Amaryllis in bud make a great gift when they open up into huge eye-catching flowers.
