Performance

Long-handled spade suits my height. It feels a bit heavier than the Pedigree (right), but doesn’t affect performance on light soils and should help on clay. The rivets and socket edge are raised, but with gloves on you don’t notice them. The shaft and handle offered good grip and leverage. The narrow tread doesn’t offer as much thrust as others. The blade cuts a nice spit that’s very controllable and easy to flip. Wet soil sticks a bit.
