Performance

This short-handled spade is noticeably light. It has a pronounced swan neck. The wooden shaft and handle offer a secure grip – the rivets and socket edge merge seamlessly into the shaft. The tread is quite narrow, and I tended to use the ball of my foot to push. The blade slices in cleanly and soil stick is not a problem. It picks up a nice spit that is very controllable – it’s easy to flip it over to bury weeds.

Value

Good price and it feels great. In spite of the short handle this is a spade I could use for hours, so it could suit most users regardless of height.
