Super spuds

THANKS for Peter Seabrook’s suggestion about growing potatoes from cuttings from old potatoes (AG, 18 July).

I’ve never grown potatoes before and with the garden centres closed I’d probably not even have tried. We now have some healthy plants and we can look forward to a small harvest of ‘lockdown’ spuds!

I PLANTED a chitted piece of potato from a bag I have been getting from my milkman. I started it off in water and then planted it in an old compost bag and have just harvested 1.15kg for our Sunday lunch.
