Best year ever for readers’ sunflowers
HERE is my 4ft (1.2m) sunflower that is a gift from a bird. It’s in a tiny crack in the crazy paving, I hate to think how far its roots are travelling. I’ve sown many sunflowers in good soil over the years, but the slugs always have a feast off them. Perhaps this is the answer?

HERE’S the result of the Amateur Gardening seeds for Sunflower ‘Evening Sun’, at 8ft 10in tall. They have been gorgeous for weeks now, and they are still growing.
