Description

This lantern has an artificial candle inside and is made from lightweight plastic, coated brown, with four clear windows. It has a square, broad base that holds the rechargeable battery, the top having a tapered roof holding the 4x4cm solar panel and a small carry handle. The single LED light produces a soft amber glow and when charged and switched on, it comes on automatically when it’s dark. There is an instruction leaflet on installation, fitting and replacing batteries, plus directions on the carton regarding charging the battery.

1.2V 400mAh Ni-MH AAA battery, which is already fitted. Although this light has a bulky appearance it weighs just 0.6kg.

Performance

This light comes assembled and takes three days to fully charge. Attractive, but the light it gives off is dim and the unit so light it would blow away in the wind. Keep this one for ornamental purposes.
