Keep cutting your grassed areas regularly, even if not much grass is growing, to prevent weeds and tussock-forming grasses taking over. 2

At least every other day, pick courgettes, cucumbers, dwarf beans, runner beans and sweet peas, or they’ll stop cropping. 3

On hot dry days, put harvested onions outdoors, hanging in nets or laid out on paths, and they’ll keep much better. 4

Don’t lose your crop to slugs: lift potatoes as soon as their tops wither, then store the best and use the rest.
