Three of the best seedless dessert grapes
1 ‘Venus’: This black seedless grape variety was bred at the University of Arkansas in the USA. Its relatively thick skins mean that it has great storage potential – the large fruits are mild and wonderfully juicy, too.
2 ‘Lakemont’: An American white dessert grape variety that produces good-sized seedless grapes with a sweet, muscat-like flavour. It will crop outside in the south, but is best grown under glass in cooler, exposed climates.
3 ‘Flame’: This popular supermarket variety is best given a warm, sheltered spot or greenhouse to ensure the late-season fruits ripen to their best. The pink-red fruits have a heavy bloom and a crunchy texture.
