A week in photography
One of the biggest preconceptions about photography is that we all welcome blue-sky weather. In fact, hard sunlight can be a pain, and moodier, more unpredictable weather is often more suited to dramatic shots (one upside of the great British climate). So for this issue we asked noted documentary photographer and teacher, Tony Worobiec, to share his secrets for getting shots in less-thanperfect weather – it’s anything but a washout, as you’ll see on page 14. Other big highlights include a first look at the Sony Alpha 7R III and a round-up of the best mirrorless cameras for a wide range of needs and budgets. I’m also transfixed by Tim Flach’s new portraits of endangered species, and sure you will love them too – turn to page 24 now. Nigel Atherton, Editor
