A present from the past
My 18-year-old nephew invited me to check out his ‘digital’ camera. Sifting through some of his first-rate A4 colour street shots I was amazed to see he was using a humble Kodak Retinette 1A, given to him as a gift. He’d had his HP5 negatives professionally scanned. It’s since been augmented by a more ‘up to date’ Miranda Sensomat with waist-level finder that also turns out beautifully sharp negatives. Scanning film shot on classic cameras is a wonderful way to combine the past and the present. Kevin Wilson, Tyne and Wear
