Focal points
The Z 6 doesn’t skimp on features. Here we look at a few more things we haven’t yet talked about
Shutter durability
To tie-in with the camera’s lightweight yet robust magnesium alloy body and extensive weather-sealing, the Z 6 features a durable, high-precision shutter that Nikon claims is good for as many as 200,000 shutter actuations.
DX Crop mode
The Z 6 has a DX Crop mode for those who’d like to gain more reach from their lenses. It only uses a small area of the Z 6’s sensor, but still produces 10.3MP resolution files with a 3936 x 2625 pixel count. The image area setting can also be assigned to the i-menu for quick access when you might need it.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are built-in. A Bluetooth LE connection can be set-up between the Z 6 and your phone too, enabling every single picture you shoot to be automatically transferred to your smartphone.
i-menu
Hit the ‘i’ menu button just above the four-way controller and you’ll be presented with access to 12 commonly used settings. This function is integrated into the touchscreen and is fully customisable, meaning you can specify exactly how it’s arranged and used.
Image size
There are two reduced image size options. Change the image size from large to medium and the Z 6 will record 13.7-million-pixel files (4528x3016 pixels). The small setting reduces the resolution further to 6.1-million-pixel files (3024x2016 pixels).
