Needless consumerism
I have just read John Heywood’s letter published in AP 4 July. Mr Heywood expresses feelings that will resonate with many readers. However, it seems to me that the thrust of his argument has been missed in your response. I believe he was making the point that it is rampant and needless consumerism that is destroying Planet A. We photographers may have ‘appreciation for beauty in all its forms’ as you put it. But we are just as guilty as everyone else in wanting more and more kit and materials. And, let’s face it, AP does its share of encouraging us to consume more.
