THRONE LEGACY

The heir apparent, whilst away on an educational pilgrimage, has received some horrifying news — it turns out that his entire family have succumbed to a mysterious evil curse! To make matters even worse, the evil in question now roams the families castle halls and has also gone to great lengths to hide the families royal heirlooms that will allow our heir to ascend to kingship.
So, with his Legacy under threat, he must return to his family home, which now lies eerily silent, and bravely set out on a quest to locate the heirlooms that are rightfully his.
With the back story set, we find ourselves in control of the young prince standing in front of the castle, contemplating his return.
With only a few coins in his pocket, a visit to the local shop located on the right-hand side of the screen provides the muchneeded items and wares required for the quest that lies ahead. With the scant arsenal that his few savings provide purchased, it’s time to enter the castle.
The labyrinthian corridors within the building are, initially, restricted from exploring too deeply, and you’ll find that either particular doors are locked, or rooms are shroud in a cloak of suffocating darkness — both of which impedes your progress. Only by finding treasure chests and increasing the royal coffers will you be able to afford enough goods and wares from the local shop to unlock the secrets of this ancient family home. Ultimately the game becomes a game of careful mapping and much backtracking. Torches burn out, and crowbars break; it’s going to be a costly adventure. All of the items are managed in a simple inventory system, some of which you can combine to make further use of. Graphically the game looks gorgeous, and there’s a top-quality music track to boot, which complements the games look and feel.
Overall the game reveals itself to be a battle of inventory management versus progression; choose wisely, adventurer!
