There are so many things to like in this, our first CPC gem, it’s hard to know where to start. The look of determination on the pilot’s face, the stylised helmet design with the bold angular shapes.

The colours themselves are gorgeous, soft and subtle but lending weight to the whole image.

The giant gloves in the foreground are almost punching out of the piece while the simple lines and geometric designs in the background lead the eye away to the depths of the craft.

It’s a wonderful and exceptionally powerful piece that contains so many hidden elements to keep you looking.

While trying to get my facts straight on the creator of this image, I discovered several more superb creations by the same talented artist that show a love of cubist imagery, of bold shapes with some spiffy ship designs.
