Blagger Amsoft/Alligata
The cover to this Amsoft release from an Alligata original is given a purple border which somehow suits the image inside. The notoriously tough platform game is well represented, and I especially like the eponymous thief to the right of the picture, a steely frown, tight shirt and crowbar in his right hand. The character is grimly determined, as demonstrated with his right hand, coiled into a fist, and surrounding the figure lurks several of the enemies that haunt him throughout the game. A disembodied skull homes in from above, complete with ominous red eyes while chattering teeth, a testament to the game’s Manic Mineresque visuals, and a malevolent fish monster also threaten the brave burglar. Completing the image, behind Blagger stands one of those iconic platform game tropes, a ladder, and there’s a hint of the less-than-salubrious locations he finds himself in with a slimy stone wall.
