As we get ever closer to the Android Nougat final reveal, rumours heat up about the two new Nexus phones – for now codenamed Sailfish and Marlin – on which Google will showcase its shiny new OS. More of a surprise, though, is that these HTC-built smartphones could come alongside Google’s first Nexus-branded smartwatch. We round up all the rumours from page 4, and detail what Nougat has in store on page 35.

The IFA 2016 show is also upon us, and among the highlights this year we’re expecting to see a Samsung Gear S3 and Tab S3, and a new Sony Xperia flagship. It won’t be the long-awaited Sony Xperia Z6, but it should at least be worth the wait. See page 16 onward for details of what to expect.

The big news this month, though, has been the launch of Samsung’s biggest and best ever Galaxy, the Note7. Check out our hands-on from page 25. The new Galaxy is currently available to pre-order and should be on sale around the time you read this.

With its huge, high-resolution screen and 3500mAh battery the Note7 is an ideal device for watching video and playing games. And there’s only one game on everyone’s minds right now: Pokémon GO. Turn to page 82 if you want to know what the fuss is all about.
