Kevin Austin, EA head of fish­eries, said: “While to­day’s fig­ures are wel­comed and en­cour­ag­ing, we mustn’t rest on our lau­rels.” From this month the age of free ju­nior li­cences changes from 12-16 to 13-16, with 12s and un­der not need­ing a li­cence at all, and 13-16s need­ing to reg­is­ter for a free li­cence at www.gov.uk/geta-fish­ing-li­cence
