What’s being caught? Ide,
F1s, carp and skimmers, with match weights to 80 lb on The Canal Lake and 70 lb on The Arc Lake, including a 64 lb bag of ide.
Tactics? Long pole shallow has given the best weights, with banded casters or hard pellets, depending on what species you’re catching. Pellets and corn in the margins has also accounted for some good bags of better carp.

What’s being caught? Roach and rudd feeding well, along with a few chub. Carp now showing all around the lake. Good mixed bags to be had if you get the feeding right. Tactics? Pole and casters or maggots with a little-but-often feeding regime for the best mixed bags and plenty of bites. Expander pellets over cuppedin micros or 4 mm hard pellets to target the carp.

Carp and ide making up the bulk of catches, with bream, tench, roach and perch as back-ups. Weekend match won with 100 lb on Moat Lake, pleasure bags of 80-100 lb on Island Lake, while Kingfisher Lake has given carp to doubles and ide to 5 lb. Tactics? Pole and 6 mm expanders over cupped-in micros best for the carp. Pole with maggots and worms for the big ide. Start at full depth and shallow up as the fish respond to the feed.

What’s being caught? The heavily coloured water seems to have put the bream off the feed, but there have been some cracking bags of roach to 1 lb, along with skimmers and perch to 3 lb. As the weather warms and the colour drops out, expect some big bags of bream at the ‘neck end’ of the lake. Tactics? Long pole or whip with pinkies, maggots or casters over an initial balling in of groundbait has brought the best bags of silver fish. Groundbait feeder with maggots, casters and chopped worm for the bream, when they start feeding again.

What’s being caught? Carp to doubles as well as stockies and some nice bream. Weekend match was won with an impressive 110 lb.
