The river has benefited from fresh flushes, though it has become low again of late. Nevertheless, good numbers of sizeable roach are being caught on this tidal-affected length, with some specimens to 2 lb present, amongst lots of 3 oz to 1 lb-plus fish. Productive spots include the sandbank pegs by the tree stump, opposite the church. Tactics? Stick float or pole with casters over hemp will entice better specimens, catches to 15 lb possible. Red maggots also score well, as do tares.
