What’s be­ing caught? New carp are hit­ting the 30 lb mark on the Big Fish Lake. Mor­gan Al­lum banked a 30 lb 4 oz com­mon on a re­cent visit. Bitea-chuck ac­tion on the coarse lakes with carp in the 2-7 lb range, skim­mers and roach. Young­ster Bray Den­ni­son had 20-plus carp on the Match Lake. Tac­tics? Leg­ered boilies for the spec­i­men carp. Pole or float fished pel­lets, meat or corn in the mar­gins, or float­ing bread, best on the coarse lakes.

Tac­tics? Pole, wag­gler or feeder with corn, pel­lets, mag­gots, cast­ers or worms for mixed bags. Leg­ered boilies, zig rigs or mar­gin baits for the larger carp. Float­ing baits banned. Lures per­mit­ted from Oct 1 to March 31.
