Bfollowed a good run of River Trent specimens with his fourth personal best in three weeks, in the shape of this 15 lb 6 oz bream.

Targeting a North West stillwater, where he had a bream of 14 lb 9 oz early in the summer, Brett started his latest session for carp before switching tactics.

Brett explained: “After seeing bream fizzing and rolling on Friday night and Saturday daytime, I made the decision to target them.

“I switched to a 10 mm yellow pop-up, presented over a tight bed of pellets and

10 mm boilies, with a 1 oz lead wrapped in matching paste.

“After having a take at 1.30am on Sunday, I instantly knew that I was into one of the big bream. To say I was buzzing would be an understatement.”

BEN FULKER came within 4 oz of his PB chub after matting this 7 lb 1 oz specimen from his local River Nene in Northamptonshire. The 35-year-old photocopier engineer from Northampton used an 11 mm pellet on a free-running bomb rig. Ben said: “The next day I caught a 20 lb common carp from the same spot. My chub PB is 7 lb 5 oz, a fish caught from the Great Ouse.”
