DAVE PETCH (Quorn AS) topped the an­nual Dren­nan Coors Masters Fi­nal, on the Up­per Trent around Bur­ton, with 19 lb 2 oz of roach and dace, from peg 26 at Sher­atts Farm, where he al­ter­nated pole and stick float with mag­got and hemp to scoop £500 and a Dren­nan Acolyte rod.

In the cul­mi­na­tion of a series that raised over £2,000 for Macmil­lan nurses and Pros­trate Cancer Re­search, an in­cred­i­ble four-way tie for sec­ond, all with 14 lb 4 oz, meant Coors AC duo Mark Fore­shew and Dave Kin­son, Rob Quinn (Shake­speare/BaitTech) and Steve Lowther (Daiwa Dons) pock­eted £125 apiece. PATSHULL Park, near Wolver­hamp­ton, hosted the first Golden Reel Feeder Cham­pi­onships qual­i­fier, where bream to 3 lb on crumb feeder with worm and cast­ers gave John Ver­non (El­ton Tackle) top hon­ours. His fi­nal tally was 33 lb 3 oz, from peg 56, on the Boats sec­tion.

Join­ing him in March’s two-day Fi­nal at Lar­ford Lakes, where a prize pot of £26,800 awaits, are Richard Lawson (To­tal An­gling Shrews­bury), who topped the 20-peg Ho­tel Bank sec­tion with 25 lb 3 oz, and Brett Clarke (Dren­nan Barns­ley), whose 8 lb 11 oz at peg 12 was enough to win The Shal­lows sec­tion.

Grand day for Larkin

Eclipse shade it

TEAM ECLIPSE over­shad­owed 11 six-man teams in Round One of the Izaak Wal­ton Stafford AA/Life­style MG Teams of Six Au­tumn League, con­tested on the Staffs-Worcester Canal, with 29 points.

Adam Slade (Brown­ing Cen­tral) topped the in­di­vid­ual stakes with 15 lb, catch­ing five late bream on long pole with cast­ers and worm from peg B4 on the Stafford Boat Club ma­rina mouth, beat­ing Dave Smith (Four Ashes) on 13 lb 15 oz.
