THE top six in the 80-en­try BobCo Tackle York­shire Win­ter League’s sec­ond round all slid 20 lb-plus of River Ouse roach onto the scales from pegs in a hot sec­tion at Chapel Had­des­ley, led by Paul Bur­ton (An­glers World Hol­i­days) with 200 redfins for 29 lb 4 oz.

Paul fished 8 m whip, ground­bait and mag­gots to pip next peg neigh­bour Phil Austin (Barlby Vil­lage Stores) with 26 lb 4 oz. Top team, with 52 points, was The Glen, who now lead over­all, ahead of Tackle 2U and Mir­field.

Four tied at top

FOUR teams – Shake­speare BaitTech, Ma­trix Dy­na­mite Trent­men, Dren­nan Le­ices­ter, and Sen­sas Dams and Lock – head the War­wick­shire WL, locked on six points apiece af­ter Round Two, on Birm­ing­ham’s Soho Loop Canal.

Baker rises to top
