3 small pike win Chew Champs
THE annual Chew Valley Pike Championships was won with just three small fish, totalling 29 lb.
Winner David Elliott said: “I came down from Manchester to enjoy a day’s fishing, and normally my weight would have come nowhere near to winning, but it was a bit of a grueller, with many people blanking, and a pike of 16 lb was the biggest fish.
“Chew is a fantastic place.
The staff are friendly, and there’s always a great bunch of pikers. I love the laughs and the banter. Thank you, Chew!” exclaimed the car paint sprayer, who used sardines to catch fish of 12 lb, 11 lb and 6 lb.
