Anglers Mail - - Where To Fish -

DESCRIPTION: three pools – Front Pool, Cyprio Pool and Match Pool – spanning around three acres in total, each capable of producing carp bags topping 200 lb. Owned by Leeds & District ASA, species include carp to doubles, F1s to 1 lb 8 oz, skimmers to 3 lb, roach to 10 oz, perch to over 3 lb, a few tench to 4 lb, ide to

1 lb and catfish to over 20 lb. TACTICS: Front Pool is the most prolific, but the same tactics work across all three of the fishery’s waters. In summer, use waggler or pole and banded pellets while flicking 4-6 mm pellets over the top. Pellets presented on the bottom will score as the water cools, as will corn. Paste over fishmeal groundbait and hemp is also a good method in the colder months. Try a Method feeder to the gaps in the islands with a pellet or corn hook bait. If the carp are not feeding, try tempting the other species, especially roach, skimmers and perch. Roving with a drop shot or a jig is a good method for the fishery’s perch.
