Brownie Chews on pike bait
BBC PRESENTER Will Millard landed a surprise 13 lb brown trout whilst legering a whole joey mackerel for pike at Chew Valley Lake, in Somerset.
Will, who was in the middle of filming a new BBC fishing series when the trout took the bait, said: “I was convinced it was going to be a PB pike, so I was absolutely shocked when a giant ‘brownie’ rolled at the net.
“Chew is an extraordinary fishery and, although the piking has been hard going this season, the brown trout shows the enormity of the big-fish potential,” added the author of The Old Man and the Sand Eel.
