What’s be­ing caught? Bite-a-chuck ac­tion with roach av­er­ag­ing 2 oz at pegs near Money Bridge, on the B1180 road­side stretch. Perch to 2 lb-plus and pike to dou­bles also feed­ing, but tench sport has faded.

Tac­tics? Whip or short pole with pinkies and ground­bait, feed­ing a tiny nugget of crumb ev­ery cast, for roach bags to 20 lb. Bread punch with white crumb or liq­uidised bread feed also ef­fec­tive. Chopped worm or ul­tra-light lures for the perch. Pike on float fished live­baits.

Where? Nor­wich, Nor­folk, NR1 1JE. Free fish­ing. Tel: An­gling Di­rect on 01603 400757. What’s be­ing caught? An im­pres­sive stamp of roach show­ing, in­clud­ing fish to 1 lb-plus, with bream to 4 lb, perch to 1 lb and pike to 18 lb in the city cen­tre stretches. Pegs be­tween the basin and Car­row Bridge are al­ways re­li­able. Boat an­glers are en­joy­ing the best of the pike ac­tion.

Tac­tics? Long whip, pole or stick float with mag­gots, hemp and cast­ers for the roach. Ground­bait feeder or long pole with worm and cast­ers for the bream. Trot­ted live­baits best for the pike in clear wa­ter
