Tactics? The bigger roach and perch are being tempted on pole with casters and maggots. Bream, skimmers and roach going for maggots and bread punch. Shop-bought deadbaits and lures for the pike.

Shakespeare Superteam/BaitTech captain Darren Massey caught a trio of 3 lb 8 oz, two big perch and roach on the Erewash Winter League practice match for 14 lb 7 oz. Ian Robinson (Mill Tackle) had a brace of tench and stacks of perch for second with 11 lb 1 oz. Perch and lots of roach in the other weights. Pike to doubles lurking.
Tactics? The tench are being caught on pole with bits of worm. Perch to 1 lb 8 oz are coming to lobworms and bloodworm (Oct 1 to Mar 31 only) over joker. The roach can’t get enough of bloodworm over
