My first pick is on the Linear complex, near Oxford. Anyone can fish it, and it’s a lake that I will definitely visit at least twice this year, as I really do love it.
For me, St Johns ticks every box. It’s a pressured day ticket lake that sees lots of anglers, day in and day out. It’s not always a case of getting a decent swim, as it can take days to get in an area where the fish are holding up, due to anglers doing long sessions. You’ve just got to slot in where you can, working the swim to get bites.
If I could choose any time of year to fish St Johns, it would have to be spring, as it suits my style of fishing a lot, knowing I can put a lot of bait in on a spot.
Once the St Johns fish find your feed, the bites can come
