Our busy year starts with World Gold hunt
This week: Billy reveals what the ace pair have got planned in their 2019 carp fishing diary.
JAMIE and I have been making our plans for 2019, and I reckon it will be our most exciting year ever.
We have three trips lined up, to very different countries. Our first is fast approaching, as it’s early next month, when we’ll be travelling to South
Africa for the FIPS Carp World Championships, which is part of the World Games – a huge and all-encompassing angling spectacle. There will be men, ladies and veterans from various categories representing England at the same time, from carpers to feeder anglers and sea fishing specialists.
This is going to be an awesome event, and I’m sure it will be a trip of a lifetime in what is an amazing country.
Jamie and I were privileged to represent England in South Africa 11 years ago, winning a World Silver medal, finishing behind the hosts, and we cannot wait to return. Hopefully, we can go one better this time, by bringing home Gold.
Our next carp match destination is the testing six-days and five-nights International Boilie Cup, contested on Lake Maconka in Hungary. I’ve fished this event for the past three years, managing two wins and a fifth place. Even though it is extremely hard work, as you are fishing for a long time in the heat with minimal sleep, we absolutely love it.
Our final match abroad will be in France, at famous Crete
Seen here in Hungary wearing their England colours, Billy and Jamie will start competing soon, with a return to South Africa for a very special World Carp Championships.
