Putting you in the picture

Anglers Mail - - Anglers -

Readers may have wondered why so many of my photos are of fish on an unhooking mat.

Well, I tend to play my fish hard, so they are not exhausted when they are finally netted. Unfortunately, this leads to a lively fish in the boat, which does not make it an easy task to set up a camera for a self-take whilst holding the fish.

Besides, it is so easy for a lively fish to slip out of your A 23 lb pike from a lake where all the angling pressure was at one end, so I went to the opposite end. hands, so it is far better (and safer for the fish) to take a quick picture of it on the mat. If I ever catch an exceptional fish again, I hope that there’s someone with me, or at least someone nearby, to take a catch picture for me.
