Bigg Hit of new fish
FRESH stocks have bolstered several already prolific lakes controlled by Biggleswade & Hitchin AA on the Cambs/Beds border.
Crucians take top billing at Grace Lake, at Sandy, with 1,200 of the chubby golden beauties and 100 tench recently introduced by the Environment Agency.
Carp from the renowned VS Fisheries have gone into two of the club’s premier waters – 32 fish to 13 lb joining legendary residents, including 40 lbplussers Moonscale, Clone,
Big Lin and The Brown Fish at Gingerbread Lake, and eight young doubles joining Swan Lake’s existing stock, which is topped by 15 different 30s.
McGregor Lake, well stocked in past years and now otterfenced, has been producing good numbers of doubles and 20 lb-plus carp, backed by quality bream, tench, roach,
pinkies and hemp can also work well. Light lure kit scoring for the predators. Chopped worm and casters for the tench and bream.
