SPOD OUT YOUR FEED
WHERE allowed, and if I had the option, I would always spod for bream. There are two reasons for this: First, I can feed a volume of bait a lot quicker than would be possible with a feeder.
Second, as the contents of the spod empty out on the surface I get a much better spread of bait.
I believe that bait falling through the water as it leaves the spod attracts fish, whereas a feeder empties on the bottom, giving minimal fish-pulling power.
The great thing about spodding is that you don’t need specialist kit to do it. If you use a mini Korda Skyliner spod or similar you can cast it on a normal feeder rod with no problem at all.
