Glad Worsbrough’s got its second wind – I love the place...

-

WORSBROUGH Reservoir in Barnsley was one of my favourite places to fish when I was growing up in the 1990s. It was full of skimmers and roach and gave me a great grounding in feeder and pole fishing.

So I was as disappointed as anyone when it became almost impossible to catch anything there. Cormorants were blamed, and certainly the trees around the lake held a lot of the birds, especially during the winter.

Now, though, Worsbrough is back, and it’s great to see it hosting ‘proper’ matches again (even if it’s now all about carp). I might even have a go there myself soon – once I’ve beefed up my gear, that is! Albert Booth, Barnsley
