The Moat Pool is producing plenty of carp over 10lb, which can be caught on a pellet feeder rig with pellet or corn on the hook. A 125lb 12oz net came from peg 85 during a recent match on this lake to an angler who fished 6mm pellets short and worm long for carp to 10lb – so fishing close in also pays off. The top lake to go on at the moment seems to be Wilfreds Weir, which is stuffed with elastic-stretching fish including barbel to 10lb and carp averaging around 5lb.
