SPINNERS

-

They might not be particularly fashionable, but ignore spinners at your peril. The flashy, rotating blade of a spinner can attract predatory fish from quite a distance, even in murky water. Go for silver or copper blades with a flash of red or green wool on the hooks.

Spinners are the Swiss Army knife of the lure world – they can be fished in so many awkward spots. In fast water, such as weir pools, they track well and sink fast.

You can fish them in holes in the weed, or bump them over rocks. Lighter models are great for fishing in really shallow water adjacent to reed beds.
