ENVIRONMENT AGENCY 2016/2017 EXPENDITURE
WHAT IS YOUR ROD LICENCE MONEY BEING SPENT ON?
THE activities listed in the chart below are taken from the standard business operating model for the Environment Agency and show the contribution to this model from the £20.7m of income received from rod licence sales in the 2016 to 2017 financial year. The model reveals five key areas where money has been spent:
Area Delivery (26%) Including work undertaken in the EA’s 23 operational area teams within 16 areas of the country. Activities monitored include fisheries monitoring, fisheries enforcement and responding to incidents.
Operational Services (18%) Helped a range of national activities to be run more efficiently, nationally. These include the national enforcement service responsible for rod licence administration and prosecutions, and also payment to the EA supplier (the Post Office Limited). Operational services also includes the National Customer Contact Centre, which last year handled almost 58,000 telephone and email queries relating to rod licences, licence sales and fisheries.
Supporting Government and Direction for Delivery (8%) Funding the EA’s head office fisheries team and also its fisheries evidence team, facing and advising government and setting the strategic direction for the organisation.
Support Services (27%) Includes funding towards finance and human resources.
Projects (21%) Aiding and funding a number of angling projects taking place across the country
